Widow´s Pension

The Widow´s Pension is a contributory benefit from Social Security to which we are entitled when our partner has died.

The aim is to avoid a possible lack of protection for the beneficiary (and/or the family unit) after the death of a person who originates the benefit, especially if this person was the one who generated most or all of the income.

The Widow´s Pension is received if there is a link with the deceased, which may be through marriage, common-law partner (at the time of death), separation, divorce or also if the marriage is declared void (provided that the possible beneficiary has not remarried or has not formed another common-law partner).
